Fort Payne hands Lady Aggies first lossPosted Wednesday, March 25, 2009 by Sand Mountain Reporter Fort Payne hands Lady Aggies first loss Fort Payne netted one goal in each half. “My girls played very hard,” said Albertville head coach Carrie Dixon. “It’s been a long week, playing our third game in four days, and I could tell it took a toll on us midway through the second half. “We maintained possession most of the first half and the beginning of the second. Fort Payne is very fast up front, and this was the first time we had seen this type of speed. “The girls never gave up. Hopefully, we learned and will move forward. “The girls are off to the best start of any Albertville girls soccer team (5-1), only allowing four goals in six games while scoring 23. “We are disappointed in the loss but we will bounce back.” The Lady Aggies are participating in the Indian Classic Tournament at East Limestone this weekend. |
